enricobuehler 8c994965d4 docs(licensing): say what the licence gate cannot see
The plan's M10 checklist named "the about.toml carve-out that puts FFmpeg
outside the automated licence gate". There is no such stanza — I looked, on this
branch and on origin/main. The carve-out is structural, which is worse: cargo-about
walks the CARGO graph, so a native library reached through a permissively-licensed
-sys crate is invisible to it. ffmpeg-sys-next is WTFPL and passes the gate
cleanly while the LGPL libavcodec it link-imports is never harvested at all.

So about.toml's own claim to be "exactly the regression guard we want against a
copyleft dependency silently entering the linked set" was overstated: it did not
catch FFmpeg entering and would not catch the next one. The comment now says so,
and says where the LGPL obligations are actually discharged instead.

The one genuinely good piece of news is recorded too: since M10 the client links
no FFmpeg, so for every client artifact the crate graph and the linked set
coincide and the gate finally means what it appears to mean. The gap is the
host's alone.

Gate: cargo about generate about.hbs --fail — passes.

enricobuehlerandClaude Fable 5 5d018eea7c ci: the supply chain accounts for itself — per-release SBOM, full-tree audits, a real license gate
CRA Annex I Part II groundwork (see punktfunk-planning design/cra-readiness.md, Phase 1):

* sbom.yml + scripts/ci/gen-sbom.sh: every vX.Y.Z release gets a CycloneDX
  SBOM attached — syft over both Cargo.locks, all Bun/pnpm trees and the
  Swift Package.resolved (2,667 components), merged with
  compliance/sbom/manual-components.cdx.json for what no lockfile records
  (pyrowave/Granite/volk/Vulkan-Headers pins, libvpl, FFmpeg, SDL3,
  VB-CABLE, punktfunk-gamescope).
* audit.yml: bun audit now covers sdk + plugin-kit (not just web), decky's
  pnpm tree is scanned, and docs-site runs non-blocking until its known
  CMS-chain advisories are cleared. All shipping trees verified green today.
* license-gate: about.toml's allowlist claim is finally enforced —
  cargo-about 0.9.1 with --fail over BOTH workspaces. The old [crate.clarify]
  license-only syntax fails to deserialize under 0.9; migrated ring to a
  per-crate accepted extension and dropped the stale aws-lc-sys entry
  (workspace is ring-only). Both gates validated green locally.
* drivers/Cargo.lock: sync the pf-dualsense→pf-gamepad rename — the crate
  rename updated the manifest but the Windows-only lockfile was never
  regenerated; cargo-about's metadata pass caught it.

enricobuehlerandClaude Opus 4.8 f7a9549cd1 chore(licensing): LGPL FFmpeg swap, third-party notices, attribution hygiene
The MIT OR Apache-2.0 SOURCE license is clean (audit found no copied copyleft); the
gaps were all binary-distribution (Layer-2). This makes the shipped artifacts honest:

- Windows host + client: bundled FFmpeg BtbN gpl-shared -> lgpl-shared (AMF/QSV/decode
  unaffected; the GPL-only x264/x265 were never used), and ship the FFmpeg LGPL notice
  + license text in the installer + MSIX (licenses/).
- THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt generated + bundled into installer/MSIX/deb/rpm. Offline
  generator (scripts/gen-third-party-notices.{py,sh}) + cargo-about config (about.toml/
  .hbs) with a permissive-only accepted-license allow-list as a copyleft regression gate.
- Reword the win32u GPU-preference hook comments to reflect independent reimplementation
  (no Apollo/Sunshine GPL-3.0 source copied).
- README dual-license + inbound=outbound contributor clause + non-affiliation trademark
  disclaimer; new CONTRIBUTING.md.
- LICENSE files into the standalone driver + vk-layer workspaces; deb copyright holder
  aligned to "unom and the punktfunk contributors".
