A channel nobody has published to answers `manifest.json` with a 404, and the check reported that the same way it reports a dead registry or a bad signature: "Last check failed: feed returned HTTP 404". Every host on the stable channel shows it today, because the stable manifest only publishes when someone dispatches `announce` for a release tag — so the first thing an operator sees from the new Updates card is a red failure caused by nothing being wrong. The shared checker now distinguishes the two. `feed::fetch_manifest_blocking` returns a typed `FeedError` instead of a string, and only a 404 on the manifest ITSELF becomes `NotPublished` — a 404 on the detached signature still fails loudly, because that is the half-published pair the manifest-then-signature upload order can produce, and it must stay fail-closed. The host carries that through as `UpdateStatus.not_published`, mutually exclusive with `last_error`. It is benign only while no manifest has ever been seen for the channel: once a check has succeeded, the same 404 means the feed LOST a document it used to serve, which stays an error. The console then shows a plain sentence naming the channel instead of the failure banner, and "None published yet" rather than "Not checked yet". The Linux client makes the same distinction but deliberately NOT the same choice: `--check-update` keeps exiting 1 and keeps `error` set, because its consumer is a shell script and an empty channel is the absence of evidence that this build is current — not a confirmation that it is. Reinstall a host, wipe its ProgramData, or otherwise regenerate its identity, and the desktop clients refused it forever: "Host identity rejected — wrong fingerprint, or the host requires pairing", including immediately after a successful re-pair. There was no way out of it from the UI — the host list showed two cards for one address and forgetting the wrong one was a guess. `KnownHosts::upsert` matches on the FINGERPRINT, which is what lets a host that moved address keep its record and everything the user set on it. A host that changed identity matched nothing, so pairing appended a SECOND record for an address that already had one, and `find_by_addr` returned whichever came first in the file — the dead one, every time. Trust decisions (PIN ceremony, delegated approval, TOFU accept, headless pair — all funnelled through `persist_host`, plus the Windows shell's two direct upserts) now go through `upsert_trusted`, which retires any OTHER record for that address. Retired means DELETED, not demoted: a record whose certificate the host no longer holds cannot connect, so keeping it only reproduces the two- cards-one-address confusion this fixes. What described the box rather than the identity — its MAC, its OS chain, the bound profile, the pinned cards, when it was last used — moves onto the record that survives, so a reinstall doesn't quietly cost the user their setup. What described the dead identity does not: `paired` and `clipboard_sync` are decisions about one specific certificate and have to be made again for a new one, and the retired record's stable id stays retired (a deep link written from it falls through to the `host=` recovery the link grammar already specifies). Only trust decisions may retire a record. The wake path's address re-key and every learn-from-advert path stay on plain `upsert`: those are driven by unauthenticated mDNS, and letting an advert delete a saved host by claiming its address would trade this bug for a much worse one. A plain reconnect still fails closed on a pin mismatch — nothing here changes what the pin is checked against. Stores that already hold the duplicate recover on the next connect, not at load: which of two records is live isn't knowable at load time and guessing wrong would throw away the good one. Instead `find_by_addr` stops being positional — a real fingerprint beats a placeholder, and among real ones the newest trust decision wins, since records are only ever appended by one. The next successful pair then cleans the store up for good. Every lookup that picks a pin or a per-host decision for a connect now goes through it (the session's pin and clipboard read, the deep-link resolver, orchestrate's plan, both speed tests, the CLI's --wake and --library, which had also been ignoring the port), and an advert's learned MAC/OS lands on the record it identified rather than on a stale namesake that merely came first. Since spec mode (`f32c3aaa`, shipped in 0.22.0) the GTK shell has handed the session a `--resolved-spec` built from `Settings::default()`. A session running from a spec performs ZERO store reads by design, so every stream since has run at the defaults: `bitrate_kbps: 0` reaches the host, which reads it as its 20 Mbps fallback — the field report this starts from, "my bitrate seems to be stuck at 20 MBPS" on 0.22.3 — and with it the resolution, refresh, render scale, codec, decoder, HDR, 4:4:4, audio channels, mic, touch/mouse mode, invert scroll, stats tier, match-window and gamepad type. Profiles never applied at all: the spec's `profile` was None, and spec mode ignores `--profile`. The tell in the wild is that the GPU and audio-device pickers kept working — the session reads those three off disk into env vars before it reads the spec. The plan carried a comment explaining that `settings` "carries only what the argv needs (the fullscreen flag)". That was true when it was written and stopped being true one commit later, in another file. `ConnectPlan::for_target` answers that shape of bug: a front-end holding its own request type resolves through the same helper the session's compat path uses, so there is no hand-built `Settings` left to go stale. The GTK shell's `fullscreen_on_stream` parameter goes with it — that is a tier-P field, and a shell-read global was beating a profile that set it. The Windows shell was never affected (it spawns with no spec) but had the same fullscreen-vs-profile bug, so it moves onto the resolver too. The audit that followed found four more settings stored, rendered in two UIs, and read by nothing: - `enable_444` never became `VIDEO_CAP_444`. "Full chroma (4:4:4)" is announced in the 0.22.0 notes for Linux and Windows and did nothing on either; only Apple advertised the bit. The host already gates it on its own policy, its capturer, HEVC and a real GPU probe, and answers the resolved chroma in the Welcome before we build a decoder — the client only has to ask. There is no desktop decode probe (Apple has `Stage444Probe`), but the presenter bails cleanly on a plane format it doesn't know and demotes to software, so the downside is a slow decode, not a broken one. - `session_params` picked the HEIGHT fallback off `settings.width == 0`. - `cli::exec_session` dropped `--profile` from its forward list, so `punktfunk --connect … --profile Work` from a script or a Decky wrapper streamed with the host's binding instead. - `ResolvedSpec::write_temp` named the spec by the SPAWNER's pid alone, so a cancelled connect and the retry behind it shared one path — and the first child's exit deleted the file the second was still starting up to read. The regression test asserts the plan carries the profile-overlaid bitrate and that the spec equals it. On the old code both are 0. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(client/linux): the client says whether it is current, and can update itself
`punktfunk-client --check-update` fetches the same Ed25519-signed per-channel manifest the host trusts, works out how this client was installed, and reports what — if anything — can be done about a newer build. `--apply-update` does the part it owns. `--version` prints the CI-stamped build string, which is both what the comparison needs and what a packaging gate can run the binary for. The engine lives here rather than in the Decky plugin for two reasons: verifying a signature needs crypto that Decky's embedded Python does not have, and the plugin is not the only surface that wants the answer. Every UI becomes a caller, exactly as it already is for --pair, --library and --list-hosts. What is possible depends on the install, and the module refuses to pretend otherwise. A flatpak is a per-user install its launcher can update. A .deb/.rpm/ pacman client goes through the packaged root helper — a fixed, parameterless systemd oneshot polkit authorises for members of the punktfunk-update group, so the request carries nothing an attacker could influence and the payload comes from the distro's own signed repositories. A sysext, a nix profile or a source build gets the command and nothing else: the signed sysext feed carries the HOST image, so a client sysext has no feed to update from, and a button that can only fail is worse than one honest line. A failed check reports the failure. "Could not tell" rendering as "up to date" is the one answer that must never happen. The box's capabilities are probed once into a `Caps` struct so the routing rules are a pure function of (install kind, caps) — all seven of them are tested without a box, including that the kill switch beats every kind and that pacman needs its own root-owned full-sysupgrade opt-in on top of the group. feat(client): the desktop clients wear the host's OS mark
The client half of the host's new `os=` advert, shared once in pf-client-core: `sanitize_os` (mDNS is unauthenticated input — lowercase `[a-z0-9._-]` tokens, capped) and `os_icon_tokens`, the most-specific-first walk with the brand aliases (`macos`→apple, `steamos`→steam) every platform resolves through. `DiscoveredHost` carries the chain, `KnownHost` persists it (`serde(default)`, elided when empty — older stores load unchanged and older clients read back exactly what they wrote), `upsert` moves it only when carried, and `learn_os` mirrors `learn_mac` — no-op, no disk write when unchanged — so the mark survives the host going to sleep. GTK shells: the card's status row leads with a recolorable symbolic glyph. That needed real embedded assets — the shells had none — so `data/` gains the ten `pf-os-*-symbolic` SVGs compiled into a gresource (new build.rs, glib-build-tools) and registered on the icon theme at startup; the Adwaita theme then tints them like every other status glyph. WinUI shell: reactor renders raster-from-URI only, so the embedded mid-gray PNGs (legible on both themes) materialize once into %LOCALAPPDATA%\punktfunk\os-icons\ — the library's poster-art pattern — and the tile's status row leads with a 16px image. The couch UI plumbs `HostRow.os` (live advert preferred, else the store) for a Skia glyph that is a declared follow-up; `--list-hosts` / `hosts --json` emit the stored chain so the Decky plugin can read it. A host that advertises no `os` renders everywhere exactly as it did before the field existed. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(client/linux): the app icon reaches About — and the launcher, which never had it either
Adding the icon to the About dialog turned out to be one line and a missing install: the icon existed, but only the flatpak ever shipped it. The deb, rpm, arch and nix entries all carried `Icon=video-display` — a stock monitor glyph — so on every non-flatpak install the launcher, the taskbar and the window switcher have been showing a generic icon this whole time. About would have shown the same nothing. So the icon moves out of `packaging/flatpak/` into `packaging/linux/icons/hicolor/` beside the tray icons, which is where a shared asset belongs, and all five packagings install it to the same hicolor path. The desktop entry names the app's own icon, and `AboutDialog` names the app id — one identity resolved through the icon theme rather than a path anyone has to keep in step. A `PUNKTFUNK_SHOT_SCENE=about` scene comes along so the dialog is capturable like every other surface; that is how the icon above was verified to actually resolve rather than silently falling back. The other half of P1 on GTK (design/client-settings-profiles.md §5.2): until now a
profile could be created and edited but only *used* through `--profile` or a URL. Host
cards get two menus, and they are separate on purpose — the predictability rule is that
connecting with a profile must never change what the card does next time.
- **Connect with ▸** is a one-off. It rides `ConnectRequest.profile` into the session's
`--profile` flag and touches no stored state. "Default settings" in that menu is
`Some("")`, not `None`: on a bound host, asking for the defaults is a real choice and
has to survive as a value rather than degrade into "use the binding".
- **Default profile ▸** is the explicit rebinding act. It writes straight onto the host
record — the binding IS a field there, so there is no map to keep in step — matched by
fingerprint, else by address, like every other per-host lookup in this client.
- The card carries a **chip** naming its bound profile, so what a plain click will do is
visible without opening a menu. A binding whose profile was deleted shows nothing and
connects with the defaults, which is exactly what the resolver does.
A URL's `profile=` now takes the same one-off route, since it is the same kind of thing.
Verified on .21: `punktfunk://connect/Bound%20Box?profile=Work` against a host bound to
"Game" spawned a session that logged `profile=Work id=bbbbbbbbbbbb` — the one-off won,
and the binding on disk was untouched.

P1's core on GTK (design/client-settings-profiles.md §5.1). The same surface now edits either layer: a scope switcher at the top of General swaps between "Default settings" and one profile's overrides. Deliberately not a second editor — a parallel one would drift from this one field by field, which is exactly what the "one settings UI" principle is there to prevent. Three decisions carry the design's semantics into this file: - Rows always show the EFFECTIVE value — the global underneath with the profile's overrides applied — so a row the profile doesn't touch reads as the live global. That is what "inherit by default" has to look like. - Overrides are recorded ON TOUCH, never by diffing values at save time. A profile may therefore pin a value that happens to equal today's global and keep it when the global later moves. The handlers that record this are installed after the seed pass, or opening a profile would override every row in it. - Only profileable rows render in profile scope. Auto-wake, the library toggle, the decoder and GPU pickers, the audio endpoints, the forwarded-pad picker and the detected pad list are facts about this device or this network, not about "Game vs Work" (§3's tier G/H), so they simply aren't there. Switching scope closes the dialog — which commits the layer being edited — and asks the app to re-open in the new one, so there is a single code path that builds the rows and no ambiguity about commit ordering. Both scopes read the controls through one shared closure; the tri-state resolution row is the obvious trap if they ever diverged. Create / Rename / Duplicate / Delete live in the switcher's group. Names are unique case-insensitively and the prompt refuses duplicates in place rather than after the dialog is gone. Delete counts what actually breaks — hosts that fall back to the defaults, pinned cards that disappear — and leaves bindings dangling on purpose: they resolve as "no profile" everywhere, and rewriting every host record here would be a second, racier source of truth. `PUNKTFUNK_SHOT_SETTINGS_SCOPE` puts the screenshot scene into profile scope, so both halves of the surface are capturable. Verified on .21 under Xvfb: the switcher, the per-profile actions and the tier filtering render, and the Statistics row seeds to the Game profile's "Detailed" rather than the global's value. D1's activation half (design/client-deep-links.md §4.1). The client already had a `--connect` CLI, but nothing claimed the scheme, so nothing outside a terminal could start a stream: no browser prompt, no xdg-open, no double-clickable shortcut. The `.desktop` entries gain `MimeType=x-scheme-handler/punktfunk;` and `Exec=… %u`, and the rpm scriptlet joins deb and arch in running `update-desktop-database` — an entry nothing indexes claims nothing. (nix substitutes the Exec line by prefix, so `%u` survives; flatpak's exported entry is renamed to the app id by the standard mechanism.) In the app, `HANDLES_OPEN` plus a positional-URL argv is the whole mechanism, and the second half is the interesting one: argv stays withheld from GApplication as before EXCEPT when it carries a URL, and then GIO's own single-instance forwarding delivers it to the running window over D-Bus. Clicking a link with Punktfunk already open reuses that window instead of racing a second instance, and we wrote no IPC to get it. A URL that lands during a cold start (before the model exists) is parked rather than dropped — silently losing a link is the one outcome that would make the feature untrustworthy. Routing is four lines of translation, because the decisions are the brain's: parse, resolve the host, resolve the profile, refuse. A link that resolves becomes exactly the message a card click raises — the same wake, trust gate, and error surfaces — so there is no second connect path to keep in sync. A link to a host we don't know, or know but never pinned, opens the ordinary PIN ceremony seeded with what the link claimed, which is how "a URL may never pair or trust on its own" stays true while still being useful. Never preempting a live session is checked here, since only this layer knows one is running. Verified on .21 under Xvfb against hand-authored stores: `connect/Bound%20Box?launch=` resolved the host by name, carried the launch id through the trust gate, and spawned the session; `punktfunk://pair/1234` and an unknown `profile=` both refused before any dial. feat(client): settings profiles — the override catalog, the one resolver, and the session flag
A client setting is global today: pick 4K@120 HDR and the retro box gets it too.
The one escape hatch (per-host `clipboard_sync`) proves the shape works but covers a
single field. This is P0 of design/client-settings-profiles.md — the headless core the
shells, Apple, Android and the deep-link grammar all build against. No UI yet.
A profile is a NAMED BUNDLE OF OVERRIDES, not a snapshot: `SettingsOverlay` is sparse
`Option`s, so a field the user never touched keeps following the global value live, and
fixing a global once fixes it everywhere. `Some(x)` equal to today's global is still
meaningful — it pins x against a later global change — which is why the UI will write
`Some` on touch and `None` on an explicit reset, never by diffing.
The catalog is its own `client-profiles.json`, deliberately not part of the settings
file: that file has five whole-file load-modify-save writers with no merge, so a profile
written by one would be dropped by the next. Which host uses which profile is a field on
the host record instead of a map keyed by host — that is what dissolves the client's
long-standing "what identifies a host record" question for this feature.
Resolution has exactly one implementation, `trust::effective_settings()`:
effective = overlay(profile).apply(global)
profile = one-off pick ?? host binding ?? none
Both session construction sites go through it (`main.rs` AND `console.rs` — touching one
and not the other is a Windows-only build break), so the console, and therefore Decky,
honor host bindings with no work of their own. Nothing here can fail a connect: a
deleted binding resolves as "no profile", and a one-off that can't be honored falls back
to the DEFAULTS rather than to the host's own profile — "connect with Work" must never
quietly stream "Game". `--profile <id|name>` is the one-off door for the shells' coming
"Connect with ▸" and for `punktfunk://…&profile=`; `--profile ""` forces the defaults on
a bound host. The active profile's name closes the stats overlay's first line, so
"which profile am I on?" is answerable without leaving the stream.
Also here, because this effort touches every one of these anyway:
- `KnownHost` gains `profile_id`, `pinned_profiles` and a lazily minted stable `id`. The
id is groundwork (design §4.5) — no lookup is re-keyed, `fp_hex`/`addr:port` stay.
- `upsert` now preserves the state the USER set on a record — the profile binding, its
pins, the clipboard decision, the id — against refreshes that carry none of it.
`clipboard_sync` survived that only because the function happened not to mention it.
- `KnownHost::default()` exists so construction sites read `..Default::default()`; five
hand-written literals were exactly how a new field gets silently dropped on re-pair.
- All three client stores now write temp+rename. A torn settings file loads as `Default`
— i.e. silently resets every setting the user has.

Emulation-and-beyond libraries need more than a title and a poster. Every library shape (GameEntry, CustomEntry, CustomInput, ProviderEntryInput) now carries a shared, flattened GameMeta: platform, description, developer, publisher, release_year, genres, tags, region, players. All fields are optional and flat on the wire, so existing library.json files, provider plugins, and clients keep working unchanged. - Installed-store scanners (Steam, Lutris, Heroic, Epic, GOG, Xbox) stamp platform=PC; custom/provider entries carry whatever was authored. - GET /library grows a ?platform= filter (case-insensitive) beside ?provider=. - Console: the add/edit form gets a Details section (round-tripping every field, since update replaces the entry), the poster tile a platform badge (non-PC only — the store badge already implies PC) and the year. - plugin-kit: ProviderEntry accepts the same fields (new GameMeta schema, spread flat); SDK + OpenAPI spec regenerated. - pf-client-core decodes platform for future client badges. feat(session): headless --pair, so a box with only SSH can enrol
`punktfunk-session --pair <PIN> --connect host[:port]` runs the SPAKE2 ceremony with no window and no toolkit, prints the same `paired <addr>:<port> fp=<hex>` line as `punktfunk-client --pair`, and exits. Until now the PIN ceremony lived only in the GTK shell or the Skia console, so enrolling an embedded/kiosk client meant installing a desktop on it — or copying the identity store by hand. Dispatches above every graphics call (the machine may have no display) and is in the `--no-default-features` build: enrolling must never be the reason a minimal image pulls in Skia. `--name` defaults to the hostname instead of the desktop path's hardcoded "Steam Deck". `forget_placeholder` and `device_name` move into pf_client_core::trust so the two binaries share one implementation rather than the session re-deriving them. One page of everything becomes the cross-client map (the Apple 2026-07 revamp, same shape the Windows client just adopted): General / Display / Input / Audio / Controllers pages with per-field captions, dynamic where the meaning depends on the selection (touch mode, resolution, codec). About stays in the primary menu per GNOME convention; settings search is on. Combo-row captions are deliberately ONE line — a wrapped subtitle's natural width crushes the selected-value label into an ellipsis. New controls, all with existing plumbing: 10-bit HDR (hdr_enabled was advertised but had no UI), PyroWave in the codec picker (preference-only, Linux decodes it), a detected-controllers list, auto-wake on connect — gated at the AppMsg::WakeConnect entry (off: no packet, no wake-and-wait fallback; the card menu's explicit Wake stays), invert scroll (session plumbing landed with the Windows parity series), and the GPU + audio endpoint pickers, fed by a startup worker-thread probe (AppModel::probes) and hidden while empty. The screenshot harness gains PUNKTFUNK_SHOT_SETTINGS_PAGE to open the capture on a specific page. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(client/windows): per-host clipboard toggle
The bridge landed always-on whenever the host permitted it; sharing a clipboard is a trust decision about a specific host, so it needs to be opted into. Mirrors the Apple client's per-host model (StoredHost.clipboardSync, "Share clipboard with this host") rather than a global switch: KnownHost::clipboard_sync, toggled from the host card's overflow menu, default off. The session binary resolves the stored flag itself in session_params, so a direct connect and the console's own launches honor the same decision without every caller having to remember to pass it. A host's pairing-gate rejections (not armed / bound to another device /
rate-limited / identity required / denied / approval timeout / superseded /
wire-version mismatch) used to drop the connection with a bare code-0 close,
and every client collapsed that — plus plain unreachability — into one
"wrong PIN / not accepted" message. A dead network path, a disarmed host,
and an operator denial were indistinguishable, which is exactly the
misdiagnosis behind the recent Android pairing support thread.
- core: new ungated `reject` module — shared close-code block 0x60–0x67
(+ 0x42 busy promoted from the host), `RejectReason`, and
`PunktfunkError::Rejected`; `pair()`/`connect()` decode the host's
ApplicationClosed code into `Rejected` instead of a generic Io error.
C ABI v7: status block −20…−28 and `punktfunk_connect_ex8` (`status_out`
reports the failure cause; NULL-return alone can't). Wire unchanged —
old peers see exactly the old bare close.
- host: every gate rejection `conn.close()`s with its typed code (and the
human reason as close bytes) before erroring out of the session task.
- pf-client-core: shared `pair_error_message`/`connect_reject_message`
wording consumed by the Windows + Linux + console-UI + CLI surfaces; a
connect failure now renders the host's stated reason.
- android: `nativeTakeLastError()` JNI token + `ConnectErrors.kt` — a
network timeout is no longer reported as "wrong PIN, or the host isn't
armed", and a typed rejection skips the wake-and-wait fallback (the host
is demonstrably awake).
- apple: `HostRejection` + `.rejected`; the pair sheet and session alerts
show the stated reason; connect moves to `ex8`.

The Skia console UI grows from the single library coverflow into a complete couch shell (Apple gamepad-UI parity), so a Deck/gamescope session is self-sufficient end to end: - Home: host carousel (saved + discovered + Add Host tile) with presence pips, paired locks, wake & connect; A/Y/X/B per the Apple launcher. - In-console SPAKE2 PIN pairing (previously needed the Decky plugin or a desktop), add-host with a controller keyboard, couch settings over the shared Settings store, wake-on-LAN overlay with retry, cancelable dials. - Shell chrome: screen stack with push/pop entrance/exit choreography (slide + fade + recede; aurora↔form backdrop crossfade), per-pad button glyphs (PS shapes vs ABXY, keycaps with no pad), menu haptics, toasts, embedded Geist typography, in-stream start banner. - Steam Deck: our OSK never draws — fields start SDL text input (the new Overlay::text_input_active hook) and Steam's keyboard types; a hint chip points at STEAM + X. Other Linux gets the full gamepad keyboard tray. - punktfunk-session: bare --browse opens Home; --browse host opens that host's library with Home behind it (Decky launches keep working, B now pops instead of quitting). Service threads run discovery, 10 s probes, pairing, wake loops, fetches, and known-hosts persistence. - Presenter contract: Launch actions carry the host, CancelConnect never engages a won race, pad kind/list ride FrameCtx, menu events flow while dialing so B can cancel. Every screen renders to PNG on CPU raster for review (PF_CONSOLE_DUMP=<dir> cargo test -p pf-console-ui -- --ignored dump). Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Add a bounded, trust-agnostic, mDNS-INDEPENDENT QUIC reachability probe and surface it everywhere saved-host presence is shown, so a host reached over a routed network (Tailscale/VPN/multicast-filtering LAN) no longer reads Offline just because it isn't advertising — the display-side companion to the 0.8.4 dial-first connect fix. Core: - punktfunk-core: NativeClient::probe (bounded handshake; a real host answers even on trust mismatch, a wrong/closed/TCP-only port fails) + punktfunk_probe C ABI (ABI_VERSION 3->4, header regenerated). - pf-client-core: trust::probe_reachable_many (parallel per-host sweep). Presence pips now read `advertising OR probed-reachable`, refreshed by a ~10-12s background sweep off the UI thread: - Linux (relm4): ui_hosts probed map + HostsMsg::Probed sweep. - Windows (windows-reactor): pf-probe worker -> HostsProps.probed. - Apple (SwiftUI): HostStore.refreshReachability, driven by HomeView + GamepadHomeView .task. - Android (Compose): nativeProbe JNI seam + periodic LaunchedEffect (LNP-gated), online dot added to the touch HostCard. - Decky already probes via --list-hosts --probe. Decky client: make the flatpak client's known-hosts store the single source of truth via new headless CLI modes (--list-hosts / --add-host / --set-host / --forget-host / --reset / --reachable). The plugin can now add a host by address, edit/forget hosts, reset all state (keeping the client identity), and shows probe-backed online pips — state is shared with the desktop client, not duplicated. Also lands in-progress Android 17 LNP groundwork (targetSdk 37 + ACCESS_LOCAL_NETWORK runtime flow, permission dialogs) that was already present in the working tree. Verified: cargo check + clippy clean (punktfunk-core, pf-client-core, linux, android native); android assembleDebug BUILD SUCCESSFUL; decky typecheck + rollup build clean; probe true/false-positive behaviour exercised against a live host. Windows and Apple were not compiled locally (no MSVC/Xcode on this Linux box). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

refactor(client): relm4 desktop shell; delete legacy presenter + coverflow (phase 5)
The GTK client becomes a relm4 component tree: AppModel owns the window, trust gate (rules 1-3), and the spawned session child's lifecycle as typed messages; the hosts page is a child component with a FactoryVecDeque of host cards — the HostsCallbacks Rc<dyn Fn> bag, the busy Cell, and the Rc<RefCell<HostsUi>> cross-page pokes are gone. Trust/settings/library dialogs stay plain GTK, invoked from update with a ComponentSender. Deleted with the in-process presenter: ui_stream.rs, video_gl.rs, ui_gamepad_library.rs, launch.rs, the khronos-egl dep, and the PUNKTFUNK_LEGACY_PRESENTER hatch. Every stream (and the console library) now runs in punktfunk-session; the shell spawns it for card connects and exec's it for --connect/--browse so the Decky wrapper keeps working. The request-access flow gains --connect-timeout + a CancelHandle that kills the child. Screenshot scenes re-pointed onto the components (verified: hosts + library self-capture; the dialog scenes present correctly and capture under a GL renderer); the gamepad-library scene is gone with the page. feat(clients): Wake-on-LAN in apple/linux/windows/android/decky
Each client learns a host's MAC from the mDNS `mac` TXT while it's awake, persists it on the saved-host record, and — when reconnecting to an offline host — sends a magic packet before connecting, plus an explicit "Wake host" action. Apple wraps the C-ABI; linux/windows call the core fn directly (linux also gains a --wake CLI mode); android via a new nativeWakeOnLan JNI export (the mDNS browse record gains a 7th mac field); decky shells out to the linux client's --wake before launching the stream. iOS/tvOS need the managed com.apple.developer.networking.multicast entitlement (pending Apple approval), so the wake path + UI are gated off via PunktfunkConnection.wakeOnLANAvailable and the entitlement is commented out — keeping iOS/tvOS releasable. MAC-learning stays active on every platform so it lights up the moment it's ungated. macOS works today. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

GTK Linux client: - hosts/library: clicking a card was dead — the handler was on FlowBoxChild::activate (never emitted on click); bridge child-activated → child.activate() on the FlowBox (ui_hosts, ui_library). - stream: the Ctrl+Alt+Shift+D/Q/S chords (and all key forwarding) were dropped because the key controller sat on the overlay, which loses focus to the header back button after nav.push+fullscreen — move it to the window and remove it on teardown. - video: a mid-session VAAPI decode error rebuilt a software decoder but never requested a keyframe, so under the infinite GOP the picture stayed gray/frozen forever. Request an IDR on any VAAPI error, keep the hardware decoder, and demote to software only after repeated failures. - stream: fix a per-session Capture↔overlay reference cycle that leaked the overlay subtree + the Arc<NativeClient> on every session end — hold the overlay weakly. - stream: accumulate the fractional wheel remainder so precision-scroll (Deck trackpad / hi-res wheels) sub-unit deltas aren't dropped. - gamepad library: keep the launcher smooth on the Deck — freeze the aurora and trim the visible card range (fewer 3D offscreen passes) on low-power. - gamepad: log full pad identity (vid:pid:name:type:virtual) on attach to diagnose an empty controller list on the Deck. - cli: --connect host:<badport> silently did nothing; default to 9777 + warn. - css: add the missing .pf-neutral pill rule; fix the clipped most-recent accent (inset outline instead of a corner-clipped box-shadow bar). Decky plugin: - surface the on-screen library browser: label the host-row Games button. - fix silent pin data-loss — the detached Games modal captured a frozen pins array, so pinning a second game clobbered the first; mirror pins in a ref and track the modal's pinned ids locally for a live label. - route pair-required hosts through the pairing modal from the fullscreen Stream button (parity with the QAM panel). feat(linux): game library browser; split app.rs into cli/launch/ui_trust
- library.rs + ui_library.rs: the host's unified game library over the management API (the Apple LibraryClient/LibraryView ported) — mTLS with the paired identity, host verified by its pinned cert fingerprint (ureq + rustls, unified with the workspace rustls 0.23); posters load async with monogram placeholders, and picking a title starts a session that asks the host to launch it (the library id rides the Hello). - app.rs (~800 lines lighter) splits into cli.rs (argv/headless pairing/--connect/screenshot scenes), launch.rs (mode resolve + session worker + event stream into the UI) and ui_trust.rs (TOFU / SPAKE2 PIN / delegated-approval dialogs); ui_hosts/ui_stream reworked around the split.
