`winget install unom.PunktfunkHost` after adding the source, and `winget upgrade`
from then on. Windows had no update path at all before this — no self-update, no
package manager — so keeping a host current meant noticing a release and
re-running an installer by hand.
Ships the manifest trio in winget-pkgs' own format (so submitting upstream later
is a copy, not a rewrite) plus a release-time generator that substitutes only
version, URL, hash and release-notes link. Everything reviewable — the silent
switches, the agreements, the installation notes — stays in the checked-in
templates rather than buried in a generator.
Silent installs deliberately take the SAME task defaults the wizard shows: a
per-channel default is a support trap. The disclosures the wizard puts on screen
travel as manifest Agreements instead, shown before install and requiring
acceptance — VB-Audio's bundling grant wants the user to see VB-CABLE's origin
and donationware status, and a silent install shows them nothing otherwise. The
console password can only be pointed at, never printed: it is generated per
install and the notes are fixed at publish time.
Self-hosted rather than the community repo, which gates on Defender/SmartScreen
validation the self-signed installer cert would not clear today. The source is
three endpoints — /information, /manifestSearch, /packageManifests/{id}. The
reference implementation's other twenty are its admin API for mutating a
CosmosDB; a catalogue generated at release time has nothing to mutate.
It runs on unom-1 as a stock bun image with the two .mjs files bind-mounted, the
same shape as the flatpak server, so there is no image to build or pull. The
catalogue is derived from the RELEASES rather than local files: winget resolves
--version and upgrade against the version list, so a source that only knew the
newest release could neither pin an older one nor show an upgrade path from it.
That also leaves no state to drift — re-running the build reproduces it exactly.
NormalizedPackageNameAndPublisher is declared unsupported on purpose. winget
derives it client-side with its own normalization, and a near-miss silently
mis-correlates an installed host; ProductCode is exact and Inno gives us one.
28 checks drive the handler directly, and CI gates on them before anything
reaches the box — a wrong response shape does not fail loudly, it just makes
winget report "no package found".

The v0.19.0 deb + decky release-attach steps source gitea-release.sh under `sh` (dash) and
died with "Bad substitution" at _release_notes_path's `${BASH_SOURCE[0]:-$0}` — a bash array
subscript dash rejects. So those legs never attached their assets to the release (the bash
legs — apple, android, rpm — were fine, which is why the body still seeded and the DMG/.ipa
attached). CI always sources this from the repo root, so resolve the notes as
docs/releases/<tag>.md relative to CWD and drop $BASH_SOURCE entirely. Verified under dash.

Release notes now live in the repo at docs/releases/vX.Y.Z.md, authored during the version bump (before the tag). ensure_release (gitea-release.sh + .ps1 twin) seeds the Gitea release body from that file in the create POST, so the release is born WITH its notes instead of being created empty and PATCHed afterward. canary/rc have no file -> empty body, unchanged. New manual `announce` workflow (workflow_dispatch, tag input) re-syncs the notes file over the live release and posts a violet embed (title, notes lead-in, release-page link) to the Discord #releases channel via the DISCORD_RELEASE_WEBHOOK secret. Stable-only: a -rc tag is refused unless allow_prerelease=true. Pressing "go" is the quality gate, so a half-built or failed release is never announced. docs/releases/README.md documents the ritual; TEMPLATE.md is the skeleton. A full Windows CI pass writes ~50 GB of cargo target output into the shared C:\t (x64) / C:\t-a64 (arm64) scratch dirs on the intentionally-small (100 GB) windows-amd64 runner. Left to accumulate across runs, that overflowed the disk and every build died with "no space on device" (os error 112) — bytemuck_derive, cc, bindgen, windows, tracing-subscriber, fs4 all failing mid-compile, taking down pf-vdisplay/host builds. ensure-windows-toolchain.ps1 already runs first in every Windows job, so reclaim disk there before provisioning/building: call the runner-baked reclaimer (unom/infra installs C:\Users\Public\act-runner\clean-runner-disk.ps1 + a scheduled task) in threshold mode so THIS job starts with headroom regardless of when that task last ran, and keep incremental caches warm when there's room. A small inline fallback covers a runner not yet re-baked with the reclaimer. The whole step is best-effort — a cleanup hiccup never fails the build. The flatpak run dies most pushes at `flatpak remote-add` with an instant "[6] Could not resolve hostname" (runs 8755/8702/8689), 25ms after dnf pulled 329 packages fine — and deploy-docs separately hits "dial tcp: i/o timeout" to unom-1 (8716/8679). The busy runner drops UDP DNS + TCP dials under parallel-job load; tools with built-in retries (dnf) ride it out, single-shot fetches killed the whole 2h build slot. * scripts/ci/retry.sh: linear-backoff wrapper (5 tries, attempt*10s); stdout passes through untouched so $(…) capture works. * Tooling: retry the flathub remote-add. * Build split: a retried prefetch phase (--install-deps-only, then --download-only for every crate in cargo-sources.json) warms the state dir; the long compile then runs with no network left to flake on. * Seed step: probe (retried) whether the server repo exists — ONLY first publish may continue fresh. The old blanket `rsync || warn` swallowed transient failures too, producing the single-branch summary that clobbers the other channel (the exact bug the step's comment documents). * Deploy: retry the idempotent ssh/rsync calls to unom-1. * raw.githubusercontent curl: --retry 5 --retry-all-errors. docker.yml's deploy-docs has the same disease but sits on drone-ssh; left for a follow-up. Real root cause is runner-host networking (conntrack / upstream DNS under burst load) — retries make the jobs indifferent to it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

0.9.0's HUD display stage hard-linked AMediaCodec_setOnFrameRenderedCallback via
ndk-sys believing it API 26; the symbol is API 33 ("Available since Android T").
A cdylib links fine with the dangling import, so it only exploded at
System.loadLibrary on every pre-13 device: UnsatisfiedLinkError, then every
NativeBridge touch throws NoClassDefFoundError — surfacing as "Identity
unavailable: io.unom.punktfunk.kit.NativeBridge", a dead pair button, and no
discovery (reported on a Y700 / Android 12; 13+ devices unaffected).
- decode::install_render_callback now dlsym-resolves the entry point from
libmediandk.so, mirroring try_set_frame_rate; on API < 33 the HUD simply has
no display stage (the pre-0.9.0 behaviour) and the .so loads.
- New scripts/ci/check-android-jni-imports.sh, wired as checkJniImports* gradle
tasks the APK build depends on: fails the build if libpunktfunk_android.so
imports any symbol absent from the NDK's API-28 stubs — `--platform 28` never
enforced this (cdylib links permit undefined symbols), despite the old
comment's claim. Verified: 3 ABIs clean at the 28 floor, and the check flags
the known API-28 symbols when pointed at a 27 floor.

fix(security): anti-replay, 0600 client key, open redirect, supply-chain
Address findings from a repo security review:
- core: add a sliding-window anti-replay filter over the AEAD-authenticated
sequence in Session (poll_input/poll_frame), closing the input-replay gap the
data plane previously left to the LAN/VPN trust assumption. 4096-deep window,
unit-tested; the encrypted loopback suite confirms no false drops.
- clients: write the mTLS client private key 0600 and lock the config dir 0700
on Unix (it was world-readable at the umask default), re-locking existing
stores on load. pf-client-core::trust plus the probe's own identity writer.
Windows keeps the %APPDATA% ACL; Android/Apple already wrap the key.
- web: fix a post-login open redirect — resolve `next` via URL and require it to
stay same-origin, rejecting `/\evil.com` and tab/encoding variants the old
`!startsWith("//")` guard missed. Also fixes the dead safeNextPath helper.
- ci: SHA-256-pin the BtbN FFmpeg DLLs bundled into the signed Windows installer
(were fetched from the rolling `latest` tag unverified); fails closed on a
re-roll, matching the VB-CABLE gate.
- ci: fail-open fork-guard on the Windows/Apple host-mode PR build jobs that
share runner labels with the signing jobs. Definitive fix stays server-side
(Gitea outside-collaborator approval / isolated PR runners) — see the notes.

feat(clients/windows): port the Vulkan session client to Windows — session-always
The punktfunk-session Vulkan client (clients/linux-session, now clients/session) builds and runs on Windows; the WinUI shell spawns it for every stream. Verified live: 10-bit HEVC via Vulkan Video on both AMD (iGPU) and NVIDIA, 5120x1440 at 130 fps / 8 ms end-to-end on the RTX 4090. - pf-ffvk: Windows bindgen branch (FFMPEG_DIR + PF_FFVK_VULKAN_INCLUDE, no pkg-config); provisioning fetches Vulkan-Headers (pinned v1.4.309). - pf-client-core: builds on Windows — WASAPI audio (audio_wasapi.rs, cfg-swapped via #[path], same surface as the PipeWire twin), VAAPI/dmabuf gated inline (chain = vulkan -> software), trust reads the WinUI shell's %APPDATA% stores (parity tests pin both serialized shapes), Settings gains adapter/hdr_enabled (serde-defaulted; Linux stores unaffected). - pf-presenter: builds on Windows — dmabuf module Linux-gated; SDL keyboard grab while captured (Alt+Tab/Win reach the host); pick_device ranks discrete over integrated (device 0 was the iGPU on hybrid boxes — the silent footgun) and honors PUNKTFUNK_VK_ADAPTER (the Settings GPU pick, exported by the session). - run loop: block in one SDL wait woken by input AND decoded frames (a per- session forwarder pushes a FrameWake user event) instead of a 1 ms poll — measured 111%% -> 5%% of a core (NVIDIA), 86%% -> 3.5%% (AMD), stats unchanged. The pump's decode-fence wait became once-per-window sampling (no per-frame pipeline stall; the stat now shows true backlog). - pf-console-ui: builds on Windows (skia-safe msvc prebuilts); font lookup falls through fontconfig aliases to concrete DirectWrite families (Consolas/Segoe UI) — browse/coverflow works, verified against a live host. - WinUI shell: session-always via new src/spawn.rs (GTK spawn.rs port — CREATE_NO_WINDOW, stdout contract, kill handle); the Stream screen is a status card (chips + stage lines from the child's stats). The legacy in-process D3D11VA path stays behind Settings "Streaming engine" / PUNKTFUNK_BUILTIN_ STREAM=1 as the A/B baseline until Phase 8 deletes it. SessionParams.video_caps makes the HDR toggle real. - clients/linux-session renamed to clients/session (builds for both OSes). - CI/MSIX: both workflows build/test both bins with widened path filters; the MSIX ships punktfunk-session.exe. ARM64 session builds --no-default-features (rust-skia has no aarch64-pc-windows-msvc prebuilts; flip when it does). A/B on this box (5120x1440 HEVC vs home-worker-5): NVIDIA Vulkan 130 fps / 8 ms e2e / 1.6 ms decode — clearly better than the built-in path. The AMD iGPU VCN saturates at ~52 fps where its own D3D11VA does ~70 — Adrenalin Vulkan decode is slower on APU silicon; discrete RDNA validation gates Phase 8. ci(release): derive canary version from git tags (single source of truth)
Every release workflow hardcoded a canary base version (0.5.0 in
Apple/Android/rpm/flatpak/deb, 0.3 in windows-msix/windows-host/decky) that
had to be hand-bumped on each stable release and wasn't. With stable at
v0.6.0, every canary was a version *behind* stable — e.g. the Apple canary
showed up on TestFlight as 0.5.0 while 0.6.0 was already published.
Add scripts/ci/pf-version.{sh,ps1} (bash + pwsh twin) as the single source of
truth: stable = the vX.Y.Z tag; canary = latest stable tag with minor+1,
patch 0 (v0.6.0 -> 0.7.0), so canary is always exactly one minor ahead of the
newest release with zero maintenance. Falls back to the workspace Cargo.toml
version when no tag is fetchable. All workflows now eval/call it and format
their own channel suffix off $PF_BASE; only the canary branch changed, stable
branches and per-channel suffixes are untouched. channels.md drops the old
manual "bump the canary base" release step.

feat(host/windows,packaging): installer overhaul - branding, VB-CABLE, GameStream choice, driver uninstall
- Modern branded wizard: WizardStyle=modern dynamic windows11 (Inno >= 6.6,
plain-modern fallback for older compilers; CI provisioning upgrades a
pre-6.6 Inno). Brand-mark wizard side panels + header tiles (100-200% DPI)
and a multi-size punktfunk.ico (SetupIconFile + Apps & Features), generated
AND committed by branding/gen-branding.ps1 from the canonical brand geometry.
Gotcha encoded in the script: ISCC rejects all-PNG icons, so entries <= 64px
are classic DIBs (PNG only at 128/256), and the ICO is load-verified.
- VB-CABLE actually ships now: windows-host.yml never set VBCABLE_DIR, so every
published installer silently omitted the virtual mic (broken mic passthrough
in the field). CI provisions the pinned, SHA-256-verified official Pack45
(provision-windows-punktfunk-extras.ps1) and the pack now FAILS on a
supplied-but-invalid dir instead of shipping mic-less again. Attribution per
VB-Audio's bundling grant surfaced in the visible wizard task text (vendor,
vb-cable.com, donationware) on top of the licenses notice.
- GameStream (Moonlight) compat is a wizard task (checked by default) ->
service install --gamestream=on|off writes PUNKTFUNK_HOST_CMD=
serve[ --gamestream] into host.env. Only the two canonical values are ever
rewritten - a hand-customized command line survives upgrades. Silent
installs: /MERGETASKS="!gamestream".
- Driver uninstall (field report: our virtual-device drivers survived
uninstall): new `driver uninstall [--gamepad]` removes the pf-vdisplay
device node(s) + the pf-vdisplay/pf-dualsense/pf-xusb driver-store packages,
wired into [UninstallRun] after service uninstall. Locale-safe by
construction: devices matched on unlocalized VALUES (never pnputil's
localized labels), packages found by INF content scan - validated against a
German-locale box ("Instanz-ID:" parse; 7/7 punktfunk INFs matched, no
foreign hits). VB-CABLE is deliberately left installed (shared third-party
component with its own uninstaller).
Installer compile, cargo check/clippy/fmt, and the ASCII locale gate are green;
the wizard look + uninstall flow still need one on-glass pass on a disposable
box (this box runs the live host).

feat(windows-ci): self-provisioning toolchain for the shared unom/infra runner
The Windows CI runner (home-windows-runner-1, vmid 210) is now provisioned/owned by unom/infra and can be rebuilt or joined by additional windows-amd64-labeled runners at any time - a manually-dispatched provisioning workflow has no way to target a specific runner instance, so it could land on an already-provisioned box instead of the one that needed it. Replace windows-drivers-provision.yml / windows-punktfunk-provision.yml with scripts/ci/ensure-windows-toolchain.ps1, a shared idempotent pre-flight (WDK/cargo-wdk, FFmpeg, Inno Setup, ARM64 rustup target) that every Windows workflow now runs at job start - a fast no-op once already provisioned, so any runner self-heals on first real use. chore(licensing): LGPL FFmpeg swap, third-party notices, attribution hygiene
The MIT OR Apache-2.0 SOURCE license is clean (audit found no copied copyleft); the
gaps were all binary-distribution (Layer-2). This makes the shipped artifacts honest:
- Windows host + client: bundled FFmpeg BtbN gpl-shared -> lgpl-shared (AMF/QSV/decode
unaffected; the GPL-only x264/x265 were never used), and ship the FFmpeg LGPL notice
+ license text in the installer + MSIX (licenses/).
- THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt generated + bundled into installer/MSIX/deb/rpm. Offline
generator (scripts/gen-third-party-notices.{py,sh}) + cargo-about config (about.toml/
.hbs) with a permissive-only accepted-license allow-list as a copyleft regression gate.
- Reword the win32u GPU-preference hook comments to reflect independent reimplementation
(no Apollo/Sunshine GPL-3.0 source copied).
- README dual-license + inbound=outbound contributor clause + non-affiliation trademark
disclaimer; new CONTRIBUTING.md.
- LICENSE files into the standalone driver + vk-layer workspaces; deb copyright holder
aligned to "unom and the punktfunk contributors".

chore(windows): clean up build/packaging - drop vendored driver binaries + the LLVM-21 pin
Now that the drivers build from source in CI, remove the dead checked-in binaries and
the toolchain cruft they left behind:
- Delete packaging/windows/{pf-vdisplay,gamepad-drivers}/ (the prebuilt .dll/.inf/.cat/.cer).
pack-host-installer.ps1 builds + signs all three drivers from the drivers/ workspace and
nothing reads the vendored dirs anymore; stage-pf-vdisplay.ps1's -VendorDir is now a
mandatory build-output path, not a vendored default.
- Drop the LLVM-21 pin. The vendored bindgen 0.71->0.72 bump (the shipping pack already
builds green on the runner-default clang 22) retired the bindgen-0.71 layout-test overflow
that needed LLVM 21.1.2, so windows-drivers.yml + provision-windows-wdk.ps1 no longer
install/point at C:\llvm-21 (~898 MB off a fresh provision) - both driver builds now use one
toolchain (clang 22 + bindgen 0.72).
- pack -SkipBuild on the gamepad build (build-pf-vdisplay.ps1 already builds the whole
workspace), build-web.ps1 reaps a stale node too, deploy-dev.ps1 nefconc path + comments.
- Reword the vendored-driver references (build scripts, .iss, READMEs, the vite web-bundle
comment) to the build-from-source reality.

ci(windows-drivers): LLVM via portable tar.xz + self-provision driver-build
The LLVM NSIS .exe /S silent install HANGS in the headless SYSTEM CI session (stuck >15min after download, blocking the single runner). Switch to the portable clang+llvm-21.1.2-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc.tar.xz (curl + Win11 tar -xf, strip 1) — deterministic, no installer. And make driver-build run the provision script itself (idempotent) so it self-provisions LLVM and never races a separate provision run. ci(windows-drivers): provision LLVM 21.1.2 for wdk-sys bindgen
wdk-sys bindgen layout tests overflow (E0080 on threadlocaleinfostruct etc.) with the runner default LLVM (a ToT/22-dev build). windows-drivers-rs maintainers confirm released LLVM 21.1.2 builds clean (discussion #591). Install it to C:\\llvm-21 (dedicated path; client LLVM untouched); the driver-build job will set LIBCLANG_PATH there. Idempotent. ci(windows-drivers): fix WDK verification paths (WDK installed fine)
The first provision run installed the WDK (iddcx headers + stampinf appeared) + cargo-wdk, but the verification threw on two wrong checks: UMDF wdf.h lives at Include\wdf\umdf\<ver>\ (not under the SDK-version dir), and inf2cat is x86-only (the search filtered \x64\). Rewrite verification to enumerate the real layout (wdf\umdf versions, km dir, iddcx versions, tool paths) and fail only on the build-essential pieces (wdf.h + km + iddcx + cargo-wdk). Skip-check now keys off iddcx presence (the reliable "WDK installed" signal), so a re-run skips the install. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

ci(windows-drivers): provision WDK + cargo-wdk on the runner (rewrite M0)
The windows-amd64 runner has the base Windows SDK + MSVC + LLVM + Rust but NOT the WDK (probed: km=False, no um/iddcx, no inf2cat/stampinf/devgen) or cargo-wdk, so the all-Rust UMDF drivers can't build there yet. Adds an idempotent provisioning script (scripts/ci/provision-windows-wdk.ps1: download wdksetup 26100 -> /q /norestart, cargo install --locked cargo-wdk, then verify km/wdf + iddcx headers + inf2cat/stampinf + cargo-wdk) and a workflow_dispatch/push workflow that runs it on the persistent runner (one-time; install persists). cargo-wdk (not cargo-make) is windows-drivers-rs's current build+package tool (cargo build -> stampinf/inf2cat/signtool). Driver builds must pin Version_Number=10.0.26100.0 (the runner also has 10.0.28000.0, which lacks km/crt). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

ci(release): split canary/stable tracks + unified Gitea Releases
A push to main publishes canary builds to canary channels (fast iteration,
unchanged); a single vX.Y.Z tag releases every platform at one version to the
stable channels and attaches all artifacts (.deb/.rpm/.msix/.apk/.aab/.dmg +
flatpak/decky/host-installer) to one Gitea Release. Collapses the
host-v*/win-v*/host-win-v* tag namespaces into v* — the channel split makes the
version-shadow bug structurally impossible (canary and stable are separate repos,
never a shared version line).
- scripts/ci/gitea-release.{sh,ps1}: one idempotent release helper
(create-or-fetch + delete-before-upload), replacing 3 copy-pasted inline blocks
and fixing their latent 409-on-reupload bug; prerelease flag auto-derived from
the tag (an -rc tag won't shadow "Latest")
- channels: apt canary/stable distributions; rpm *-canary/base groups; flatpak
canary/stable OSTree branches + a 2nd .Canary.flatpakref; generic-registry
canary/ vs latest/ aliases; Play internal/alpha; Apple TestFlight vs notarized DMG
- android versionName threaded through gradle (versionCode stays run_number);
Apple canary = TestFlight-only (no DMG/tvOS); canary base bumped to 0.3.0
- docs: new docs-site channels.md (subscribe table + cut-a-release runbook +
box migration), refreshed ci.md workflow table + packaging READMEs

feat(windows-client): cross-compile + ship ARM64 (aarch64) off the x64 runner
windows.yml + windows-msix.yml gain an x86_64/aarch64 target matrix. ARM64 is cross-compiled on the one x64 Windows runner — the x64 MSVC toolset ships the ARM64 cross compiler, aarch64-pc-windows-msvc is tier-2 with host tools, and SDL3/libopus (build-from-source) cross-compile cleanly. The only arch-specific external dep is FFmpeg's import libs: the matrix points FFMPEG_DIR at a per-arch tree (x64 C:\Users\Public\ffmpeg, arm64 C:\Users\Public\ffmpeg-arm64, both FFmpeg 7.x / avcodec-61). Per-arch short CARGO_TARGET_DIR avoids a shared target dir; fmt + test run only for x64 (aarch64 can't execute on the x64 host). pack-msix.ps1 gains -Arch x64|arm64 (stamps the manifest ProcessorArchitecture, arch-suffixes the .msix/.cer); windows-msix.yml matrixes both arches and publishes ..._x64.msix / ..._arm64.msix. setup-windows-runner.ps1 provisions the rustup target + the ARM64 FFmpeg tree (idempotent). Verified live on the runner (home-windows-1): debug+release cross-build green, clippy -D warnings green, and MSIX pack produces a valid arm64 package (manifest arch=arm64; bundled exe/SDL3/avcodec/reactor-bootstrap all PE machine 0xAA64). ci(runner): cap the act_runner cache + 30-min prune (fix recurring disk-full)
The hourly docker-prune could never reclaim the real disk filler: the act_runner cache server's blob store (cache.dir:"" -> /root/.cache/actcache/cache) lives in the long-running runner container's WRITABLE LAYER, which docker prune can't see. It grew to ~66 GB and filled the 125 GB disk on its own. - New docker-prune.sh holds the logic (inline ExecStart= broke under systemd's own $-expansion, which emptied $SZ/$(...) before sh ran them — silently no-oping the burst guard). The unit now just calls the script. - Caps the actcache: clears the blobs once they exceed ~20 GB (act_runner repopulates; keys are content-hashed, so only stale entries drop). - Burst guard lowered 85%->80% and now also clears the actcache. - Timer hourly -> every 30 min; image/cache `until` 12h -> 6h. Live: cleared 66 GB on home-runner-1 (93% -> 20%), deployed + verified. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(packaging): signed Inno Setup installer for the Windows host + CI
MSIX (the client's format) can't install the host's LocalSystem secure-desktop service or the SudoVDA kernel driver, so the host ships as a signed Inno Setup setup.exe that runs elevated and delegates to the existing idempotent `punktfunk-host service install`. - packaging/windows/punktfunk-host.iss: lay exe into Program Files, optional SudoVDA driver task, run service install/start; [Code] stops+waits the service before file copy on upgrade; uninstall runs service uninstall. - pack-host-installer.ps1: cert (reuses MSIX_CERT_PFX_B64 / self-signed CN=unom), sign inner exe + setup.exe, fetch/stage SudoVDA, run ISCC, export public .cer. - fetch-sudovda.ps1 / install-sudovda.ps1: pinned SudoVDA + nefcon download, cert import, gated device-node create (no phantom dup), pnputil install (warn-not-abort). - nvenc/: synthesize nvencodeapi.lib via llvm-dlltool from a 2-export .def so --features nvenc links with no GPU/SDK at build time. - .gitea/workflows/windows-host.yml: build (nvenc) -> clippy -> ISCC -> sign -> publish setup.exe + .cer to the generic registry pkg punktfunk-host-windows. Tag host-win-v* -> X.Y.Z (+ latest/ alias); main push -> rolling 0.2.<run>. - setup-windows-runner.ps1: provision Inno Setup; docs: installer instructions. SudoVDA/nefcon release URLs+SHA-256s in fetch-sudovda.ps1 are placeholders (baseline v0.2.1) — fetch warns + prints the computed hash until pinned. ci(windows): use shell: pwsh (PowerShell 7) — fixes GITHUB_ENV BOM corruption
Windows PowerShell 5.1's Out-File -Encoding utf8 prepends a UTF-8 BOM, corrupting the first GITHUB_ENV line so CARGO_WORKSPACE_DIR silently never got set -> windows-reactor build.rs panic -> CI build failed (runs 8765/8768). pwsh 7 writes UTF-8 without a BOM. Installed PowerShell 7.6.2 MSI on the runner and put C:\Program Files\PowerShell\7 on the daemon wrapper PATH so jobs find pwsh; switched all windows.yml steps to shell: pwsh. (Reproduced locally with CARGO_WORKSPACE_DIR set: the build is green in 2m37s — the BOM was the only issue.) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Re-add the paths filter (the trigger was never the problem — the runner was registered at the

ci(windows): fix runner registration CWD + capture clean daemon logs
Two fixes after live setup on home-windows-1: register from $RunnerHome (act_runner writes .runner relative to CWD, so it must run there — it had landed in the SSH home and the daemon couldn't find it), and run the daemon under cmd-level redirect (>> runner.log 2>&1) so its native stderr stays out of PowerShell's error stream. Runner is live: windows-amd64:host, SYSTEM scheduled task, "declare successfully" against git.unom.io. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

ci(windows): make setup-windows-runner.ps1 ASCII-clean
PowerShell 5.1 reads .ps1 in the system code page; an em-dash inside a string literal misparsed (its bytes look like a quote) and the non-ASCII username in the daemon wrapper would have been mangled. ci(windows): setup-windows-runner.ps1 — Gitea Actions host runner provisioner
The Windows analogue of scripts/ci/setup-macos-runner.sh: downloads act_runner (gitea-runner) in host mode, bumps Node 20 via nvm4w (actions/checkout@v4), registers against git.unom.io with labels windows-amd64:host, and installs a SYSTEM scheduled task that keeps the daemon alive across reboots. The daemon's env wrapper hard-codes this box's MSVC/WinUI toolchain (cargo/rustup, NASM, CMake, LLVM, FFmpeg, the ASCII CARGO_HOME SDL3's PCH needs) so the Windows workflow inherits a working toolchain. Idempotent; token (from org unom -> Settings -> Actions -> Runners) not persisted. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

ci: bust the re-poisoned cargo cache (v3) + burst-guard the runner prune
This session's push storm refilled the runner to 100% WITHIN the prune timer's 24h window (it only trims >24h), so a build hit ENOSPC and actions/cache saved a truncated target/ -> `error[E0463]: can't find crate for shlex` in ci.yml's clippy. Two fixes: - Bump cargo-target-v2- -> v3- in ci.yml + deb.yml so the poisoned tarball is bypassed (a suffix bump can't — restore-keys falls back to the old prefix; same as the v1->v2 fix). - Harden scripts/ci/docker-prune: run HOURLY (was 6h) with a burst guard — if the disk is still >85% after the normal until=12h trim, prune ALL idle images + build cache (in-use protected). A fast push-burst can fill 99 GB inside any time window, so the disk-pressure trigger, not the age filter, is the real backstop. Applied live on home-runner-1 (reclaimed 95%->66%) and checked in. ci: bound runner disk + bust the disk-full-corrupted cargo target cache
The self-hosted runner filled its disk (95%, builds failing on ENOSPC): every CI
push builds a sha-<commit>-tagged Docker image per pipeline, and since those tags
are never dangling a plain `docker image prune` skips them — they piled up to 589
images / ~85 GB plus 18 GB of build cache. Two parts:
- scripts/ci/docker-prune.{service,timer}: a host-level systemd timer (every 6h,
Persistent) that prunes images/build-cache/containers older than 24h — in-use
images stay protected. Checked in (the runner is hand-provisioned and shared
across orgs) and already installed live; reclaimed 89 GB -> 39 GB (95% -> 42%).
- ci.yml / deb.yml: bump the `cargo-target-<rustc>-*` cache key to `-v2-`. The
disk-full build let actions/cache save a truncated target/ (a dep's .rmeta went
missing -> "error[E0463]: can't find crate for pem_rfc7468" while compiling der).
A suffix bump is useless here — restore-keys would fall back to the poisoned
prefix — so the prefix is versioned to force one clean rebuild. cargo-home is
untouched (sources were intact; the failure was a missing build artifact).

feat(release): production Apple builds — notarized macOS dmg + iOS TestFlight
release.yml (v* tags / dispatch, macos-arm64 runner): universal mac +
iOS xcframework -> xcodebuild archive -> Developer ID export ->
notarytool + staple -> dmg on the Gitea release; iOS archive uploads
to TestFlight (app-store-connect/upload). Per-run throwaway keychain;
ASC API key authenticates notarization, upload, and automatic-signing
profile fetch. macOS App Store lane deferred (needs App Sandbox);
tvOS deferred (tier-3 Rust targets).
All app targets now share bundle ID io.unom.punktfunk — ONE App Store
listing with universal purchase (decided pre-submission; effectively
unchangeable after). ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption=false declared
(standard-algorithm AES-GCM, exempt).
build-xcframework.sh resolves Apple toolchains itself: cargo's HOST
artifacts (proc-macros, build scripts) are loaded by the running OS,
and a newer-than-OS beta Xcode ld emits LINKEDIT layouts dyld rejects
("mis-aligned LINKEDIT string pool" -> misleading E0463) — so prefer
a non-beta Xcode for everything, fall back to CLT for mac-only slices
(env untouched: an explicit DEVELOPER_DIR=<CLT> trips xcrun's license
check), refuse iOS/tvOS without a real Xcode (CLT has no iOS SDK).
The runner plist no longer injects DEVELOPER_DIR for the same reason.
punktfunk_Logo.icon: dropped the Xcode-27-beta-only Icon Composer
features (refractivity, specular-location) — 26.5's actool crashes on
them, and store builds must use release Xcode. Visual delta is the
refraction/specular nuance only; re-author when 27 ships.
Validated on home-mac-mini-1 with Xcode 26.5: mac+iOS xcframework
slices, unified bundle IDs, signing-free app build.

fix(ci): match real runner labels + survivable Mac runner daemon
runs-on: ubuntu-24.04 (the label the existing Linux runner actually
advertises — ubuntu-latest queued forever). Mac runner: strip the
docker:// default labels generate-config seeds (they override the
host-mode registration labels and make the daemon demand a Docker
engine), and ship the service as a root LaunchDaemon — macOS Local
Network privacy silently blocks LAN dials from unbundled CLI binaries
in gui/user launchd domains ("no route to host"), system daemons are
exempt. Without sudo the script leaves an interim nohup daemon. CI
surface documented in CLAUDE.md + docs-site ci.md.

feat(ci): Gitea Actions — dockerized web/docs/rust-ci images, Apple client CI, Mac runner
Three workflows: ci.yml (Rust workspace inside the punktfunk-rust-ci builder image + web/docs-site build+typecheck), docker.yml (build+push punktfunk-web, punktfunk-docs, punktfunk-rust-ci to git.unom.io — host and native clients stay un-dockerized by design), apple.yml (host-mode macos-arm64 runner: Rust core -> PunktfunkCore.xcframework -> swift build + swift test). ci/rust-ci.Dockerfile: Ubuntu 26.04 with the workspace's link deps (FFmpeg 8, PipeWire, Opus, GL/EGL/GBM, xkbcommon, libcuda via the 580-server userspace as a link stub) + pinned rustup + node for the JS actions.
