enricobuehler 244cafe005 refactor(apple): move the mgmt API off URLSession so ATS can stay on
The previous commit bought the library back on VPN/remote hosts by declaring
NSAllowsArbitraryLoads, which works but is blunt: it drops ATS for ALL of the
app's URLSession traffic, and the only other traffic is third-party cover-art
CDN fetches -- the one surface we never wanted to open. It cost the TLS-version
floor, forward secrecy, and the cleartext-HTTP block on URLs the host supplies
at runtime (custom entries and scanner plugins carry arbitrary ones).

So take the host out of the URL loading system instead. MgmtTransport speaks
HTTPS over Network.framework, which ATS does not govern, and states the trust
rule we actually mean in a verify block: the leaf must hash to the fingerprint
pinned during PIN pairing. That is the same rule punktfunk-core has always
applied on the QUIC stream plane -- which is exactly why streaming kept working
over Tailscale while the library did not.

With that, the ATS dict is gone and ATS is fully enforced again. Cover-art CDN
fetches keep ordinary URLSession with full system trust evaluation and no client
certificate. LibraryTLSDelegate is deleted; nothing pins through URLSession now.

Also here:
- HTTPResponse: just enough HTTP/1.1 to read one GET -- status, headers,
Content-Length and chunked framing (hyper streams the art proxy chunked). A
body shorter than Content-Length throws instead of returning partial JSON,
which would otherwise read as "this host has no games".
- LibraryError.pinMismatch, so a re-keyed host says "pair again" rather than
sending someone to debug their network.
- 403 joins 401 as "unauthorized": both are the host declining the certificate.
- baseURL brackets IPv6 literals; the old string interpolation did not.
- 11 tests covering the framings hyper emits and the failure modes that would
  otherwise be silent.

Known trade-off: no connection reuse yet, so each poster costs its own
handshake where the pooled URLSession shared one. Fine on a LAN, worth revisiting
for large libraries over a high-latency link.

enricobuehler 78a02bc994 fix(apple): ATS blocked the library on every non-RFC1918 host
The game library rides the management REST API over HTTPS (TCP 47990) through
URLSession, authenticated by mTLS and pinned by SHA-256 fingerprint. The app
declared no App Transport Security policy at all, so it ran under default ATS --
which exempts only "local" destinations (.local, unqualified names, RFC1918 and
link-local literals) and applies the full policy everywhere else. The host
certificate is self-signed (and carries no SubjectAltName), so it cannot satisfy
that policy: the library loaded at 192.168.x and failed at the TLS layer on any
other address.

Field-reported against a Tailscale host. 100.64.0.0/10 is CGNAT, not RFC1918, so
the library failed there while streaming to the very same address worked -- the
QUIC stream plane is raw UDP and never enters the URL loading system. A WireGuard
peer or a public-IP host breaks identically.

Declares NSAllowsArbitraryLoads, which must stay the dict's only key: iOS 10+ and
macOS 10.12+ ignore it whenever a more granular ATS key sits alongside it. Trust
is unchanged -- LibraryTLSDelegate still pins the host by fingerprint and hands
every other origin (cover-art CDNs) to full system trust evaluation.

enricobuehlerandClaude Opus 4.8 14c5e7c11c feat(apple/M2): opt-in background keep-alive (audio + video-drop + timeout)
Backgrounding a live session no longer freezes it when the user opts in: audio
keeps playing (UIBackgroundModes audio), the QUIC connection + pump stay live,
video decode is DROPPED, and a bounded timer auto-disconnects. Off by default.

- PunktfunkConnection.setVideoDropped/isVideoDropped: a tiny lock-guarded flag
both pumps read every iteration. StreamPump (stage-1), Stage2Pipeline (VT +
PyroWave) drain nextAU() for flow control but DISCARD the AU before any
  VideoToolbox/Metal work — the crash/jetsam-safe seam (no GPU off-screen).
- SessionModel.enterBackground(timeoutMinutes:) / exitBackground(): set the drop
flag, mute the mic (privacy — SessionAudio.setMicMuted pauses the capture
engine), arm a DispatchSourceTimer that disconnect(deliberate:false)s on fire
(keeps host linger → fast late reconnect). exitBackground clears the flag and
requestKeyframe()s; the pump's freeze gate auto-arms on the resumed
frame-index gap so concealed frames are withheld until the IDR re-anchors.
disconnect() cancels the timer + clears isBackgrounded.
- ContentView scenePhase driver (iOS): .background+streaming+setting →
enterBackground; .active → exitBackground. scenePhase (not willResignActive)
so Control-Center/app-switcher peeks don't start the timer.
- Settings → General (iOS-only keepAliveSection): toggle + 1/5/10/30 timeout;
new keys backgroundKeepAlive (def off) / backgroundTimeoutMinutes (def 10).
- Info.plist: UIBackgroundModes [audio] + NSSupportsLiveActivities (for M3).

macOS swift build + swift test green (142 tests). The iOS-gated scenePhase
handler + settings section are not exercised by the macOS CI target (known §9
gap) — need on-glass verification (audio never gaps, video re-anchors <1s LAN,
timeout ends the session, phone-call audio-steal degrades gracefully).

enricobuehlerandClaude Opus 4.8 4cae1b8bb8 feat(apple/M0): App Group + PunktfunkShared + punktfunk:// deep links
Foundation milestone for Live Activities & Widgets (design/apple-live-
activities-and-widgets.md). No user-visible change beyond the URL scheme.

- New dependency-free PunktfunkShared SwiftPM target (+ library product) so a
future widget extension can link it WITHOUT PunktfunkKit (Rust staticlib +
presentation layer). Moves StoredHost (model + JSON codec), DefaultsKeys, and
punktfunkDefaultMgmtPort there; adds AppGroup.suiteName and the punktfunk://
  DeepLink builder/parser. PunktfunkKit @_exported-imports it (no call-site
churn for consumers; intra-Kit files import it explicitly since imports are
  file-scoped).
- HostStore reads/writes the shared App-Group suite (group.io.unom.punktfunk)
with a one-time migration from UserDefaults.standard (old value left in place
for staged rollout); reloads the "PunktfunkHosts" widget timeline on change.
- App Group entitlement on iOS/tvOS + macOS.
- CFBundleURLTypes scheme `punktfunk`; ContentView.onOpenURL routes
connect/<uuid>[?launch=<GameEntry.id>] into the existing connect() path
(unknown host / already-streaming guards; never tears down a live session).
- Round-trip tests: StoredHost JSON codec (+ legacy missing-optional decode),
  DeepLink grammar. `swift build` + `swift test` green (142 tests, 0 failures).

Setting ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption=true (1b733613) while the App Store
Connect encryption documentation is still in progress — approval blocked on
the pending French ANSSI declaration, so no compliance code exists yet —
makes xcodebuild's upload analyzer demand ITSEncryptionExportComplianceCode
and fail every Apple upload with error 90592 ("Invalid Export Compliance
Code … key value []").

Revert that plist hunk to restore the pre-existing manual "Missing
Compliance" per-build flow in ASC (upload succeeds, encryption question
answered in the UI). Not set to NO — that would be a false declaration; the
app genuinely uses non-exempt AES-GCM crypto. Once ANSSI's attestation is
uploaded and ASC approves the documentation, re-add the flag together with
the resulting ITSEncryptionExportComplianceCode.

ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption = true — the app's AES-GCM session crypto is
non-exempt under the App Store Connect encryption questionnaire (category
chosen; French ANSSI declaration in progress). First of the six targets;
the remaining Info.plists follow with the rest of the compliance work.

- InputCapture / StreamViewIOS: iPad ⌃⌥⇧Q un-capture chord, recognized from the
GCKeyboard HID stream (no NSEvent monitor on iOS) for cross-client parity with
the macOS/Windows/Linux combo; and a click into the video re-engages capture —
the iPad analogue of macOS mouseDown → engageCapture(fromClick:), with the
engaging click suppressed toward the host.
- SessionPresenter: snap the aspect-fit sublayer frame to the backing pixel grid.
AVMakeRect centers the fit rect at fractional points, so the compositor
resampled the layer — a uniform "everything soft" blur even when the drawable
was pixel-exact 1:1. Rounding origin + size to device pixels makes the composite
a true 1:1 blit; idempotent when already aligned.
- MetalVideoPresenter: PUNKTFUNK_BILINEAR_LUMA=1 A/B lever — compiles the shader
with Catmull-Rom luma off (plain bilinear) to isolate bicubic overshoot from
  upstream fringing.
- SettingsView / StreamView / StreamViewIOS: match-window reverted to opt-in
(default OFF) — the explicit mode is used and never auto-resized unless enabled.

Give instant feedback the moment a host is picked, and make the wake wait a
full-screen takeover instead of a modal card — unified into one ConnectOverlay
across every client:

- android: new ConnectOverlay (aurora backdrop; Connecting / Waking / timed-out
phases) replaces the tiny inline "Connecting…" row and the WakeOverlay card.
The dial phase is now cancelable and hands off to the wake wait in one frame.
- console (pf-console-ui): the connect/wake overlays become a full-screen aurora
takeover (draw_takeover) instead of a centered card over a dim scrim; the
Waking → Connecting handoff no longer blinks.
- apple: new ConnectOverlay mirrors it (macOS / iOS / tvOS), replacing the
per-tile connecting spinner + the WakeOverlay card; instant "Connecting…" from
model.phase, and the carousel is gated inactive during the dial.

Also enable Wake-on-LAN on iOS/tvOS now that the multicast entitlement is
approved: enable com.apple.developer.networking.multicast and flip
wakeOnLANAvailable to true on every platform (MACs were already learned from
mDNS, so wake works immediately).

Verified: Android compileDebugKotlin + screenshot renders; console clippy +
36 tests + rendered phases on Linux; Apple swift build + 121 tests + rendered
phases.

enricobuehlerandClaude Opus 4.8 f79d5c5b49 fix(apple/macos): drop the rejected audioanalyticsd sandbox exception
App Review declined 0.4.2 (3384) under guideline 2.4.5(i): the temporary
com.apple.security.temporary-exception.mach-lookup.global-name =
com.apple.audioanalyticsd exception "is not appropriate and will not be
granted." It had been added on the theory that CoreHaptics controller
rumble (RumbleRenderer / MenuHaptics) hard-crashes under the App Sandbox
without it, since the framework reaches the audio-analytics daemon over
Mach and the sandbox denies that global-name lookup.

Tested the theory directly on macOS with a real Xbox pad: a
CHHapticEngine start + full-intensity rumble in a genuinely enforced
sandbox (NSHomeDirectory redirected into the app container) with no
exception on the codesigned binary runs fine — no crash — even with a
live AVAudioEngine stream running concurrently. CoreHaptics tolerates
the denied lookup; the exception was never load-bearing.

So just remove it: CoreHaptics session rumble and menu haptics keep
working on macOS unchanged (no source change needed). DualSense stays on
its raw-HID path — a genuine Sony-motor gap — which needs no exception
either.

Resubmit requires a new build number and clearing the App Store Connect
App Sandbox entitlement-usage justification for this exception.

enricobuehlerandClaude Opus 4.8 fb709d68ce feat(clients): Wake-on-LAN in apple/linux/windows/android/decky
Each client learns a host's MAC from the mDNS `mac` TXT while it's awake, persists it on the saved-host record, and — when reconnecting to an offline host — sends a magic packet before connecting, plus an explicit "Wake host" action. Apple wraps the C-ABI; linux/windows call the core fn directly (linux also gains a --wake CLI mode); android via a new nativeWakeOnLan JNI export (the mDNS browse record gains a 7th mac field); decky shells out to the linux client's --wake before launching the stream.

iOS/tvOS need the managed com.apple.developer.networking.multicast entitlement (pending Apple approval), so the wake path + UI are gated off via PunktfunkConnection.wakeOnLANAvailable and the entitlement is commented out — keeping iOS/tvOS releasable. MAC-learning stays active on every platform so it lights up the moment it's ungated. macOS works today.

enricobuehlerandClaude Fable 5 34fe896ade feat(apple): gamepad UI v2 — controller settings + add host, aurora, macOS
Sources reorganized (client: Home/Session/Settings/Stores/Support/Trust; kit:
Audio/Connection/Gamepad/Input/Support/Video/Views) with the big files split
along the same seams.

The gamepad mode is couch-complete, and now on macOS too (the living-room
Mac case), not just iOS/iPadOS:

- GamepadSettingsView: a console-style, fully controller-navigable settings
screen (X from the launcher) — up/down moves focus, left/right steps values
(clamped, boundary thud), A cycles/toggles, B closes; the focused row shows a
one-line description. Backed by GamepadMenuList, the vertical sibling of
GamepadCarousel, and SettingsOptions — the option lists hoisted out of
SettingsView statics and shared by the touch, tvOS and gamepad settings.
- GamepadAddHostView + GamepadKeyboard: register a host end to end with a pad
  — field rows open an on-screen controller keyboard (dpad grid, A types,
X backspaces, B done); the launcher carousel ends in an Add Host tile, so
the dead-end "add one with touch first" empty state is gone.
- Launcher polish: contextual hint bar with the pad's real button glyphs,
controller name + battery chip, one shared console chrome.
- GamepadScreenBackground: an animated aurora (TimelineView-driven drifting
blobs in the brand's violet family, breathing radii, slow hue shift,
legibility scrim; freezes under Reduce Motion). Pure SwiftUI on purpose — a
.metal library only bundles reliably in one of the two build systems (SPM vs
the xcodeproj's synced folders) these sources compile under.
- macOS port: settings/add-host/library present as sized sheets (a macOS sheet
takes its content's IDEAL size, and the GeometryReader-driven screens
collapsed to nothing), NSScreen-based mode lists, scroll indicators .never
(the "always show scroll bars" setting overrides .hidden), tray scrims so
scrolled rows dim under the pinned title/hints, extra title clearance, and a
  PUNKTFUNK_FORCE_GAMEPAD_UI=1 dev hook — launcher/settings/add-host/keyboard/
library render-verified live on a real Mac + LAN hosts.
- GamepadMenuInput: X button support, and (re)start now snapshots held buttons
so a controller handoff press never fires twice (the B that closed the
keyboard no longer also cancels the screen underneath).
- Cleanups: one "Connection failed" alert in ContentView instead of one per
home screen; HostDiscovery.advertises/unsaved shared by both home screens.
- host: can_encode_444 stub for the non-Linux/Windows host build (the macOS
synthetic-source loopback used by the Swift tests).

enricobuehlerandClaude Opus 4.8 fab3d9821a fix(apple): allow CoreHaptics audioanalyticsd mach-lookup under the macOS sandbox
GCDeviceHaptics.createEngine returns a CHHapticEngine (the only controller-rumble
API on Apple platforms); starting it spins up CoreHaptics, which looks up the
system audio-analytics daemon over Mach. The App Sandbox denies that global-name
lookup and the framework's precondition turns the denial into a hard crash
("Process is sandboxed but com.apple.security.exception.mach-lookup.global-name
doesn't contain com.apple.audioanalyticsd") the moment a controller's rumble
engine starts.

Add the documented, App-Store-acceptable temporary-exception whitelisting exactly
that one service. Verified embedded into the signed binary (codesign -d
--entitlements) alongside the existing entitlements. macOS-only (iOS/tvOS reject
temporary-exception keys and don't need it). App Store: declare it in App Sandbox
Entitlement Usage Information.

enricobuehlerandClaude Opus 4.8 16e8ec7b39 feat(apple/macos): App Sandbox + entitlements, wire Mac App Store TestFlight
The Mac App Store requires App Sandbox, which the macOS app didn't declare.
App Sandbox is macOS-only (invalid on iOS/tvOS, fails upload validation), so
the macOS target now uses a dedicated Config/Punktfunk-macOS.entitlements while
iOS/tvOS keep the shared Config/Punktfunk.entitlements (unchanged). The single
macOS app is sandboxed for BOTH channels — the Developer ID DMG is codesigned
with the same file — so the local build equals what App Store users get.

Entitlement set (verified against the code + Apple docs):
- app-sandbox, network.client.
- network.server: NOT optional despite the client being outbound-only — the
sandbox gates the bind() syscall as network-bind, and quinn (quic.rs) + the
raw-UDP plane (transport/udp.rs) both bind explicitly, so host->client
datagrams never arrive without it (the classic QUIC-under-sandbox trap).
- device.audio-input (mic uplink), device.bluetooth + device.usb (Xbox/DualSense
controllers over BT/USB via GameController), keychain-access-groups (existing).
Omitted: device.hid (undocumented), files.user-selected.* (no pickers),
networking.multicast (Bonjour browse is exempt; requesting it breaks signing).

CI (release.yml): add a macOS App Store archive+upload-to-TestFlight step
mirroring the iOS lane (manual Apple Distribution signing + the 'Punktfunk macOS
App Store Distribution' profile, app-store-connect/upload, installer-signed pkg),
continue-on-error until the portal prereqs exist; point the Developer ID DMG
codesign at the sandboxed entitlements. Docs (ci.md) + clients/apple README
updated; the runner additionally needs the macOS platform on the App Store
Connect record + the '3rd Party Mac Developer Installer' cert.

Verified: signed Debug build embeds exactly the intended entitlements
(codesign -d --entitlements), swift build green against the rebuilt xcframework.

enricobuehlerandClaude Opus 4.8 a5a49184c0 fix(apple): persist Keychain trust — sign macOS + data-protection keychain
The client identity prompted for Keychain access on every launch/rebuild. Root
cause: the macOS app target was ad-hoc signed (CODE_SIGN_IDENTITY = "-"), and
the identity lived in the file keychain whose "Always Allow" ACL is bound to the
app's exact code signature (cdhash for ad-hoc). Every rebuild changed the binary
-> changed the cdhash -> the ACL no longer matched -> re-prompt.

- Sign the macOS target with Apple Development (team already set) instead of
ad-hoc, so the designated requirement is identity-based and stable across
  rebuilds.
- Move the identity to the data-protection keychain (kSecUseDataProtectionKeychain)
gated by a team-scoped keychain-access-group entitlement — access is granted by
  the app's entitlement, not a per-binary ACL, so it's prompt-free and survives
rebuilds. Add Config/Punktfunk.entitlements and wire CODE_SIGN_ENTITLEMENTS into
  all six app configs (macOS/iOS/tvOS).
- Unsigned / ad-hoc builds (e.g. `swift run`) lack the entitlement
(errSecMissingEntitlement) — fall back to the legacy file keychain so they still
work (with the old prompt), no hard failure.

macOS re-mints the identity on first run (the old file-keychain copy isn't in the
data-protection keychain) -> one re-pair, which is acceptable. iOS keeps its
identity (the explicit access group equals the prior default).

Validated: swift build; swift test (39 passed, 0 failures); xcodebuild
-showBuildSettings confirms Apple Development + Config/Punktfunk.entitlements.

enricobuehlerandClaude Fable 5 a32314e9a6 feat(release): production Apple builds — notarized macOS dmg + iOS TestFlight
release.yml (v* tags / dispatch, macos-arm64 runner): universal mac +
iOS xcframework -> xcodebuild archive -> Developer ID export ->
notarytool + staple -> dmg on the Gitea release; iOS archive uploads
to TestFlight (app-store-connect/upload). Per-run throwaway keychain;
ASC API key authenticates notarization, upload, and automatic-signing
profile fetch. macOS App Store lane deferred (needs App Sandbox);
tvOS deferred (tier-3 Rust targets).

All app targets now share bundle ID io.unom.punktfunk — ONE App Store
listing with universal purchase (decided pre-submission; effectively
unchangeable after). ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption=false declared
(standard-algorithm AES-GCM, exempt).

build-xcframework.sh resolves Apple toolchains itself: cargo's HOST
artifacts (proc-macros, build scripts) are loaded by the running OS,
and a newer-than-OS beta Xcode ld emits LINKEDIT layouts dyld rejects
("mis-aligned LINKEDIT string pool" -> misleading E0463) — so prefer
a non-beta Xcode for everything, fall back to CLT for mac-only slices
(env untouched: an explicit DEVELOPER_DIR=<CLT> trips xcrun's license
check), refuse iOS/tvOS without a real Xcode (CLT has no iOS SDK).
The runner plist no longer injects DEVELOPER_DIR for the same reason.

punktfunk_Logo.icon: dropped the Xcode-27-beta-only Icon Composer
features (refractivity, specular-location) — 26.5's actool crashes on
them, and store builds must use release Xcode. Visual delta is the
refraction/specular nuance only; re-author when 27 ships.

Validated on home-mac-mini-1 with Xcode 26.5: mac+iOS xcframework
slices, unified bundle IDs, signing-free app build.

enricobuehlerandClaude Opus 4.8 1f36540a8d feat(client): cross-target input handling + LAN mDNS discovery
Input handling, building on macOS/iOS/tvOS:
- macOS recapture after navigating out: engageCapture no longer latches
captured=true when the cursor grab is refused mid app-activation (which left
a free cursor that no later click could re-grab); cursorCapture.capture() now
  reports success. + canBecomeKeyView.
- iOS/iPadOS recapture: restore the prior capture on didBecomeActive (nothing
  re-grabbed mouse/keyboard on return before).
- iPad indirect pointer (no lock) is forwarded as an absolute MOUSE (move +
buttons + scroll via hover / UITouch.indirectPointer), not as touch, with the
local cursor visible; GCMouse owns the locked regime, gated so the two never
double-send. Adds the MouseMoveAbs wire helper.
- Trackpad scroll on iOS (was entirely missing): GCMouse scroll dpad when
  locked + a scroll-only UIPanGestureRecognizer otherwise.
- tvOS: no focusable control during play (a focusable Disconnect button ate the
controller's A in the focus engine); Siri Remote Menu disconnects.
- Don't leak touch to the host under the TOFU trust prompt (gate on
  captureEnabled).

LAN discovery: HostDiscovery (NWBrowser over _punktfunk._udp, the host's
crate::discovery advert) resolves each service to IP:port and parses the TXT
(fp advisory, pair, id); an "On this network" section in the grid (tap to save
+ connect, or pair if required). iOS/tvOS get NSBonjourServices via a merged
Config/Info.plist. Integration-tested end to end against a fake NWListener advert.
